  1. Dean of Law Department

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and efficient individual to join Abaarso Tech University (ATU) as the Dean of the Law Department. As the Dean, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership and fostering academic excellence within our Law Department. This position requires a minimum of five years of teaching experience and a minimum of Master of Law degree.

Responsibilities:

  1. Academic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the Law Department, setting academic goals and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and research are maintained.
  2. Curriculum Development: Oversee the design and development of a comprehensive and innovative curriculum, keeping it up to date with the latest legal developments and industry practices.
  3. Faculty Management: Recruit, mentor, and evaluate lecturers to create a strong team of dedicated and qualified professionals.
  4. Student Success: Promote an inclusive learning environment and support student success through effective academic advising, counseling, and career services.
  5. External Engagement: Foster connections with legal professionals, organizations, and the broader legal community to enhance the reputation and visibility of the Law Department.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: A minimum of a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from an accredited institution is required. A doctoral degree (Ph.D., J.S.D., or equivalent) in Law is highly desirable.
  2. Teaching Experience: A minimum of five years of lecturing experience at the university level, with a proven track record of effective teaching and student engagement.
  3. Research and Scholarship: A strong research profile with a record of scholarly publications, presentations, or successful grant application is preferred.
  4. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership and effectively manage faculty, staff, and resources.
  5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  6. Professional Network: An established network within the legal profession and academia is desirable.
  7. Commitment to Diversity: A demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the academic community.

2: Executive Office Secretary

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and efficient individual to join Abaarso Tech University (ATU) as an Executive Office Secretary. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to the President of ATU and Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining schedules, drafting correspondence in Somali and English, and ensuring the smooth functioning of executive office operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with the President of ATU and Board of Trustees to facilitate efficient communication and coordination.
  2. Maintain executive staff schedules, including arranging appointments, meetings, and travel logistics.
  3. Schedule and maintain records of senior staff and Board of Trustee meetings, ensuring accurate documentation and timely dissemination of meeting materials.
  4. Draft correspondence in Somali and English, including letters, memos, and emails, with attention to detail and adherence to professional standards.
  5. Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials as required.
  6. Manage incoming and outgoing communications, ensuring messages are appropriately prioritized and handled in a timely manner.
  7. Provide logistical support for meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and distributing meeting materials.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum three years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an academic or professional setting.
  2. Good knowledge of computer applications, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  3. Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.
  4. Proficiency in drafting emails and correspondence in Somali and English, demonstrating strong written communication skills.
  5. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  6. Professional conduct and ability to interact effectively with senior staff, faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
